About this race
The Hammer & Axe Turkey Trot was created out of a desire for racing we've heard expressed from our athletes, and the running population as a whole. Hammer & Axe is thrilled to once again provide a chance for our community of athletes, and the running community as a whole, to compete against themselves, the clock, and other runners virtually.
There's nothing more familiar than the Turkey Trot. A ritual performed by runners every Thanksgiving. Wake up early, push yourself outside of your comfort zone, and then kick your feet up for the rest of the day and enjoy family and food. We want all runners to not only run their local Turkey Trot, but to enter that time amongst the greater U.S. (and international) running community for some one-of-a-kind prizes.
The race will take place on Thanksgiving Day (Thursday, 11/25) and is open to runners of all ages, abilities, and nationalities. Competitors will provide their result through a GPS activity uploaded to Final Surge and will compete for prizes that will be awarded on Friday, 11/26.

- Sign up for $10 and download the Final Surge Android or iOS app.
- The virtual race will be placed on your Final Surge calendar for Thursday, November 25th.
- Find a local Turkey Trot in your area and compete there, or run from your home, on a track, or pick your favorite local race route and run on your own.
- Sync your results with Final Surge. Click here to learn what devices and apps you can use to connect your data. If your run is on a treadmill or you don't have a GPS device, then just enter your completed time manually using the Final Surge app. *To be eligible for prizes, you must sync your GPS data to Final Surge to be verified.
- After your results are entered, view where you rank on our live leaderboard for the Hammer & Axe Virtual 5k Turkey Trot here.
- On Friday, November 26th, official results will be released and bragging rights will be yours! All prizes from Hammer & Axe will be mailed out to winners following the race.
